posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga was adapted into 13-episode TV anime in 2013

Manga creator Tatsuhiko Hikagi announced on his Twitter account last Wednesday that he will end his his Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge manga in the September issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive, which Kadokawa published on Monday.

The manga revolves around Kiri Haimura, a boy who loves to cut girls' hair. He happens to meet Iwai Mushanokōji, a girl with long, beautiful hair who is known as the "Queen of Hair." Her hair has been cursed to be forever uncuttable, but Kiri happens to have "Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge" — scissors that have the mystical ability to cut her cursed hair. She is rumored to be able to grant one wish to the person who murders her. Kiri finds himself protecting Iwai from descendants of murderers wielding "Killing Goods."

Hikagi launched the manga in Monthly Comic Alive in 2009. Kadokawa published the manga's 10th compiled book volume on March 23. The manga was adapted into a 13-episode TV anime, which premiered in April 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired under the title The Severing Crime Edge, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for home video in North America. Sentai Filmworks released the Blu-ray and DVD of the series last July.
