Medabots/Medarot 9 Robot Battle RPG for 3DS Revealed

Kadokawa's Famitsu.com website is previewing an article in this week's issue of the Weekly Famitsu magazine, and the article reveals that Rocket Company is developing a new Medabots game titled Medarot 9: Kabuto ver./Kuwagata ver.. The "robot battle role-playing game" shares the same title scheme as the two previous Medabot games, which offered two versions with the same story, but differed in the available Medabots, parts, and Medals.
The magazine article will introduce the main character and story for the new game, as well as the 3-on-3 battle system. Kadokawa will publish the Weekly Famitsu issue containing the article on Thursday.
Rocket Company released Medarot 8: Kabuto ver./Kuwagata ver., the most recent game in the Medabot game series, in August 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS.
The first Medabot (Medarot) game inspired a television anime series by Bee Train in 1999, and a sequel series titled Medarot Tamashii (Medabot Spirits) in 2000. ADV licensed the series in North America, and Nelvana produced a dub for the first series, which aired in the Fox Kids network in 2001, before moving to ABC Family. Medabot Spirits aired on ABC Family in 2003.
