The December issue of Kadokawa's Newtype magazine is revealing on November 10 that SANZIGEN Animation Studio's 10th anniversary original television anime project is titled Bubuki Buranki. The anime will premiere in Japan in January.

The magazine is also revealing the anime's staff. Daizen Komatsuda (Evangelion 1.0, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya key animation) will make his directorial debut with the series. Jirō Ishii (CANAAN, Under the Dog, Monster Strike) and Yukinori Kitajima (Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash!, Hamatora, Brynhildr in the Darkness) will be in charge of the scripts. Yuusuke Kozaki (Speed Grapher, Donyatsu, Fire Emblem: Awakening) is designing the characters. Tatsuya Yoshikawa (Breath of Fire series, Devil May Cry 4) is credited for "Buranki Design." Masaru Yokoyama (The Rolling Girls, Your Lie in April, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is composing the music. Quadrangle is credited with the original work.

Konomi Suzuki is performing the opening theme, and MYTH&ROID is performing the ending theme.

The issue also lists the anime's official website and Twitter account.

SANZIGEN Animation Studio's CEO Hiroaki Matsuura posted on his official Twitter account in October that his studio is launching an original anime project to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary since being formally incorporated in 2006.

SANZIGEN was founded in 2003, and incorporated in 2006 by former Gonzo employees as a studio specializing in CGI animation. The company has worked on CG production for various anime, such as Wooser's Hand-to-Mouth Life, 009 Re:Cyborg, the new Initial D films, and The Heroic Legend of Arslan. The company has produced anime such as the Arpeggio of Blue Steel television anime and its subsequent films, and the Miss Monochrome series.

In 2011, SANZIGEN formed the Ultra Super Pictures holding firm alongside Studio Trigger and Ordet. Matsuura serves as SANZIGEN's representative in the firm.
