M&C! Licenses Black Bullet, 6 Other Manga

Indonesian publisher M&C! revealed on Tuesday that it has licensed the following manga: Shiden Kanzaki and Hon Morino's Black Bullet, Yuki Isoya's Witch in the Attic (Yoneura no Majo), Rikachi's The Ice Queen (Kōri no joō), Aka Akasaka's Sayonara Piano Sonata, Yuki Morita's How to be a Girl (Onna no Ko no Hajimekata), Chiyori's Bride of the Fox (Kitsune no Yomeiri), and Masami Hoshino's You and Delicious Omelette (Anata to Fuwafuwa. Omelette).

M&C! will debut Witch in the Attic on December 30, and it will debut all the other titles on January 6.

The story of Black Bullet revolves around the high-schooler Rentarō, a young man who has a superior, mysterious ability in an age of humans who fight against the Gastrea, a race of viral parasites. The story describes Rentarō's actions in a not too distant future.

Morino began the manga adaptation of Shinden Kanzaki's original light novel series in 2012, and ended it in June 2014. Kadokawa shipped the fourth and final compiled volume on June 26. Kanzaki began publishing the original novels under the Dengeki Bunko label with illustrations by Saki Ukai in July 2011, and ASCII Media Works shipped the seventh volume in April 2014. A 13-episode anime adaptation by Kinema Citrus premiered in April 2014.

Witch in the Attic consists of five short manga stories whose plots intersect with one another, and center around students of Sannosan High School leading up to their Culture Festival. The five stories include "Lilith," "Iynx," "Eve," "Eve and Venus," and "Maria, with Eve - Pandora."

Isoya published the short manga in Kodansha's Kiss Plus magazine in 2009. Kodansha published the short story omnibus in November 2010.

The Ice Queen centers on Nika, who is classmates with Nanao, a very plain and normal guy. When by chance she happens to see Nanao practicing figure skating, she suddenly finds him cool. When she tries to imitate what he did one day, and ends up slipping on the ice because of it, she couldn't have felt more joy to become something that was so unlike her. When Nanao sees her, he compliments her, saying she has good skating sense.

Rikachi launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine in 2013, and ended it in 2014. Kodansha published the manga's second and final compiled book volume in October 2014.

Between the Sky and You centers around two childhood friends, Sora and Rio. Both are entering high school, but Sora still holds a certain memory close to his heart.

Hoshimori launched the manga in Shogakukan's Sho-Comi magazine in 2014, and ended it in May. Shogakukan published the manga's fourth and final compiled book volume on June 26.

Hikaru Sugii's original Sayonara Piano Sonata novels center on Naomi "Nao" Hikawa, a son of a music critic, and Mafuyu Ebisawa, a half-Hungarian, half-Japanese pianist who made her exit from the world of classical music. The two meet each other in a junkyard by coincidence, and are surprised when they meet again at school the next day. Mafuyu maintains an empty classroom after school for music appreciation, but Nao is intent on having her join a rock band.

Akasaka's manga adapts Sugii's original novel series. Akasaka launched the manga in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine in 2011, and ended it in 2012. Kadokawa published three compiled book volumes for the manga. Sugii's original light novel series ran from 2007 to 2009, spanning five volumes.

How to be a Girl centers on Ako, a girl who, on her 14th birthday, finds that she can read the minds of boys around her. As she hears what boys think, she thinks that she has to become more of a girl. She also hears the thoughts of her childhood friend Takayoshi, and finds out that he likes her, which sends her into a panic.

Morita launched the manga in Shogakukan's Ciao magazine in 2014, and ended it in the same year. Shogakukan published the manga's first and only compiled book volume in November 2014.

Bride of the Fox centers on Tsukiko, who meets a mysterious young man during her summer. The man invites her to follow him, and she does, and he takes her to the world of kitsune, or fox spirits, of which he is one himself. Tsukiko finds out that the man has no name, and gives him one: Gin.

Chiyori launched the manga in Shogakukan's Betsucomi magazine in 2013, and ended it in the same year. Shogakukan published the manga's first and only compiled book volume in December 2014.

You and Delicious Omelette centers on Tsumugi Fukuzawa, the owner and proprietor of Chōshokuya, a restaurant away from the main street of town that opens at 6:00 a.m. every day and caters to those who want delicious breakfasts. Every morning, a man eats at the restaurant, ordering strange combinations such as "toast and mackerel." His age and occupation are unknown: he is a true mystery man. But when Tsumugi encounters the man away from the restaurant one day, she sees a very different face from what she's used to seeing.

Hoshino and Shogakukan published the manga's single volume on January 9.
