Hyadain Rearranges Classic Opening Song for Amazon's Crayon Shin-chan Spinoff Anime

Crayon Shin-chan: Alien vs. Shinnosuke premieres August 3 on Amazon Prime

The staff of the Crayon Shin-chan anime revealed last week that musician Hyadain (also known as Ken'ichi Maeyamada) is performing a rearranged version of the anime's 1993-1995 opening theme song "Ora wa Ninkimono" to celebrate the anime's 25th anniversary. Maeyamada's version, "Ora wa Ninkimono 25th MIX," will be the theme song for the Amazon Japan original series Crayon Shin-chan: Alien vs. Shinnosuke.

Akiko Yajima performed the original song in Shinnosuke's voice in 1993, and the song made it onto the Oricon Top 10 chart.

A musical performer and composer, Hyadain has performed theme songs for Nichijou - My Ordinary Life, Toriko, Kuroko's Basketball, Bakuman., Gundam Build Fighters, and the Hunter × Hunter -The Last Mission- film. He works as a composer under the name Ken'ichi Maeyamada.

The 13-episode Crayon Shin-chan: Alien vs. Shinnosuke anime will premiere on Amazon Prime on August 3 in Japan, and will later stream in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and other countries.

Unlike the main television anime series which is mostly set in modern-day Japan, the new series will be a "sealed room" suspense comedy set 100 years in the future. The story begins when Shinnosuke and the entire Nohara family wake up from cold sleep to find themselves aboard a space ship drifting in space. The anime will depict the various events that take place inside the ship.

Michio Mihara, who worked as conceptual designer, art director, storyboarding, and unit director on this year's Crayon Shin-chan Bakusui! Yumemi World Dai Totsugeki film, is directing the spinoff anime at Shinei Animation. Kimiko Ueno, who wrote the screenplay for last year's Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Ora no Hikkoshi Monogatari ~Saboten Daishūgeki, wrote the scripts for the anime. Yūichirō Sueyoshi is the character designer and chief animation director.
