Azure Striker Gunvolt OVA's English-subtitled Promo Video Reveals Returning Cast

Game developer Inti Creates began streaming an English-subtitled promotional video on Monday for the anime adaptation of its Azure Striker Gunvolt (Armed Blue Gunvolt in Japan) Nintendo 3DS game.

The video reveals that Ippō Yamada (Mega Man Zero, Mighty No.9) and Ryo Kawakami (Mega Man ZX) are composing the anime's music, and also reveals that the anime is reuniting the game's original cast:

• Kaito Ishikawa as Gunvolt, "Azure Striker"
• Megu Sakuragawa as Lumen / Joule, "The Muse"
• Masashi Yukita as Asimov
• Ayumu Murase as Nova, "The Mighty"

The anime is being targeted for a winter 2016 release as an "on-demand" original video animation (OVA), and Inti Creates is considering releasing the anime on the Nintendo e-Shop. The company will host a premiere screening of the OVA at its "INTI CREATES FAN FESTA 20th Anniversary" event on November 5.

Inti Creates developed the first game with concepts by Keiji Inafune of Mega Man/Rockman fame, and released the game in Japan and North America in August 2014.

Inti Creates recently released the Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 sequel game digitally on August 25 in Japan. The company released the Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack that features the Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 games in a physical package in Japan on the same day.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 will arrive digitally in on September 29 in N. America. Inti Creates will also release the Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack on October 4 after a delay. The set will mark the first time the first game is getting a physical release in North America. Yacht Club Games (Shovel Knight) is publishing the set.
