Hinako Note's Main Cast Sings Opening, Ending Themes

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Mitsuki's Hinako Note manga announced on February 17 that the main cast is performing the show's opening and ending theme song. The five performing cast members form the "Gekidan Hitotose" (one year theater group).
The opening theme song is titled "A-e-i-u-e-o-ao!!" and the ending theme song is titled "Curtain Call!!!!!". The singles for both songs go on sale May 10.
The members of the "Gekidan Hitotose" from left to right (Note: Not all character name romanizations are confirmed.):
- M.A.O as Hinako Sakuragi
- Miyu Tomita as Kuina Natsugawa
- Yui Ogura as Mayuki Hiiragi
- Hisako Tōjō as Chiaki Ogino
- Marika Kōno as Yua Nakajima
The anime also stars Yuri Yoshida as Ruriko Kuroyanagi.
The anime will premiere in April.
Takeo Takahashi (Rozen Maiden, Spice and Wolf, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers) is credited as the chief director for the anime. Tōru Kitahata (Love, Election and Chocolate, Haganai NEXT) is directing the anime at Passione. Tatsuhiko Urahata (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, GATE) is supervising the series' scripts. Kazuyuki Ueda (Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic, Haitai Nanafa) is adapting the character designs for animation and is also serving as chief animation director. Yukari Hashimoto (March comes in like a lion, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun) is composing the music. Anima & Company (Orange) is producing the series.
The manga centers on titular protagonist Hinako, who is poor at speaking, and lives in a rural part of Japan. She wants to improve her speech to be able to talk to people freely, so in high school, she transfers schools to Tokyo and plans to join a theater club. When she arrives, it turns out her boarding house is a secondhand bookstore, and a girl who eats books lives there.
Mitsuki launched the manga alongside Comic Cune, a former magazine-within-a-magazine supplement for four-panel manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine, in August 2014. When Comic Cune relaunched as a full-fledged standalone magazine in August 2015, the manga relocated to the new magazine. Kadokawa published Hinako Note's second compiled book volume on August 27.
