Action fantasy series premieres in Japan on April 4

The official website for the television anime of Tarō Hitsuji's Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Akashic Records (Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor) light novels began streaming a commercial for the show on Thursday. The video previews the Konomi Suzuki's opening theme song "Blow out."

The anime will premiere on AT-X on April 4 at 8:30 p.m., before airing later that evening on Tokyo MX, MBS, and TV Aichi. The series will then air on April 5 on BS11.

In the "action fantasy" story, Glenn is a part-time teacher at a magic school who is inclined to write "self-study" on the blackboard and then take a nap. One of his students, Sistine, gets angry and challenges him to a duel and he is easily defeated. However, when a terrible incident threatens the school, Glenn shows intense dedication to protecting his students.

The anime stars:

Sōma Saitō as Glenn Radars

Akane Fujita as Sistine Fibel

Yume Miyamoto as Rumia Tingel

Ari Ozawa as Re-L Rayford

Hiroki Takahashi as Albert Frazer

Eri Kitamura as Celica Arfonia

Minato Kazuto is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Touko Machida (Lucky Star, The IDOLM@STER, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan) is both writing and overseeing the scripts, Satoshi Kimura (Terraformars) is serving as both character designer and chief animation director, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Kuromukuro, Monster Musume, Orange) is composing the music.

The characters Sistine (as voiced by Akane Fujita), Rumia (Yume Miyamoto), and Re-L (Ari Ozawa) are performing the ending theme song "Precious You☆."

Kurone Mishima (The Devil Is a Part-Timer! High School!, KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!) provides the illustrations for the original light novels. Kadokawa will publish the eighth novel on March 18.

Aosa Tsunemi began drawing a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in March 2015, and Kadokawa will publish the manga's fifth volume on March 25. Kadokawa also published a collection of short stories, titled Roku de Nashi Majutsu Kōshi to Tsuisō Nishi, in March 2016.
