'You don't know GUNMA yet.' Anime Reveals Cast, More of Staff, April 2 Debut, Teaser Promo

posted on by Egan Loo

The official website for the television anime of Hiroto Ida's You don't know GUNMA yet. (Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai) manga updated on Friday with the main cast, additional staff members, the April 2 premiere, and a teaser video:

The cast stars:

Gakuto Kajiwara as Nori Kamitsuki, the protagonist

Jun Kasama as Otoya Todoroki, the other protagonist and the class president with red hair, glasses, and scarf

Aya Uchida as Kyō "Shinocchi" Shinooka, the heroine and Kamitsuki's classmate

Kyōhei Matsuno is composing the music. Hiroyuki Nemoto is directing the art, and Haruko Nobori is the color key artist.

As previously announced, Mankyū (The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō) is directing the anime at Asahi Production (in collaboration with CJT) and supervising its series scripts. Tomonori Kogawa (Densetsu Kyojin Ideon, Aura Battler Dunbine, Xabungle) is designing the characters. Uchida is contributing the song "So Happy" as the anime's ending theme song.

The anime will premiere on April 2 at 8:55 p.m. on Gunma TV, and then stream on GyaO! that same day at 9:00 p.m. It will also debut on Animax on April 7 at 11:25 p.m.

The comedy manga centers on Nori Kamitsuki, who moves from Chiba Prefecture to a fictionalized version of Gunma Prefecture northwest of Tokyo, and the story focuses on Gunma's culture. Before moving to Gunma, Kamitsuki only sees that the prefecture has a fearsome reputation on the net. Upon moving, he soon makes contact with the people who hold a strong love of Gunma's culture.

Ida launched the manga in Shinchosha's online manga site Kurage Bunch in October 2013. Shinchosha published the manga's eighth compiled book volume last July.

The manga also inspired a live-action television series and film. The four-episode television series aired on NTV from March 6 to 27, 2017. Shōtarō Mamiya starred as protagonist Nori Kamitsuki.

The JManga site released the first volume of Ida's Nogi manga in 2011.
