Romancing SaGa 2 Game Gets Stage Play This Fall

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Romancing SaGa 3 game previously inspired stage play last April

Square Enix announced during its "SaGa THE STAGE" event on March 4 that a stage play adaptation of its Romancing SaGa 2 role-playing game has been green-lit. The play will be titled SaGa THE STAGE ~Shichi Eiyū no Kikan~ (SaGa THE STAGE ~The Return of the Seven Heroes~) and will debut this fall.

Series game designer Akitoshi Kawazu will supervise the story and script. Moku Tochibori will pen the script, and Kenji Itō is composing the music.

The play is the second stage play adaptation of Square Enix's SaGa series. Last April's Romancing SaGa THE STAGE ~Roanu ga Moeru Hi~ (Romancing SaGa THE STAGE ~The Day Roanu Burned~) adapted the Romancing SaGa 3 game.

Square Enix released the smartphone port of Romancing SaGa 2 on iOS and Android in May 2016 in English worldwide. The company released the game on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in Japan, North America, and Europe last December.

Square Enix released the Makai Tōshi SaGa (The Final Fantasy Legend in North America) game in 1989. Since then, there have been many installments in the series, including ports and remakes. The last full-fledged SaGa game, Unlimited Saga, shipped in 2003. Square Enix released SaGa Scarlet Grace on the PlayStation Vita in December 2016. The company will release the game for the Switch, PS4, iOS, Android, and PC this year.
