Animax Asia Simulcasts Final Fairy Tail Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Animax Asia revealed both on its Facebook page last Friday, and through posters and videos at the Cosplay Mania 2018 event in Manila on Saturday, that it will air a simulcast for the "final" Fairy Tail anime, and air the The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These anime.

Animax Asia will premiere the "final series" of the television anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga on Sunday, October 7 at 8:30 p.m. The anime will premiere in Japan on October 7, and new episodes will debut on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, TV Setouchi, and TV Q Kyuushuu on Sundays at 7:00 a.m.

The main staff are all returning from the second and most recent television anime. Shinji Ishihira is directing at A-1 Pictures and Bridge, Masashi Sogo is handling series composition, and Shinji Takeuchi and Toshihiko Sano are designing the characters. Shōji Hata is the sound designer and Yasuharu Takanashi is composing the music. With the exception of the second animation studio and the character designers, the main staff is also the same as the first anime.

Mashima's Fairy Tail manga series follows the adventures of world's most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail. The manga launched in 2006 and ended in July 2017.

The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These is an adaptation of Yoshiki Tanaka's epic science fiction novels Legend of the Galactic Heroes. The 12-episode series premiered on April 3.

Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko's Basketball, STARMYU) directed the anime at Production I.G. Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Kuroko's Basketball) was in charge of the series scripts. Yōko Kikuchi (Junjō Romantica, Kuroko's Basketball, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - The World's Greatest First Love), Iwao Teraoka (The Brave Police J-Decker guest character designs, Kuroko's Basketball storyboarder), and Katsura Tsushima (Kuroko's Basketball episode animation director) designed the characters, and Takayuki Goto (Kuroko's Basketball, Blood-C) served as chief animation director.

Composer Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Re:CREATORS) composed the opening theme song "Binary Star" as part of his SawanoHiroyuki[nZk] project, and Uru (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, live-action Kōnodori) provided the vocals. ELISA (The World God Only Knows, A Certain Scientific Railgun) performed the ending theme song "Wish."

The anime and novels' story is set in the far future, with humanity divided into two major powers: the democratic Free Planets Alliance, and the autocratic Galactic Empire. A third power, Phezzan, plies the market and exerts great control in the economy of both states. The Alliance and the Empire have been locked in war for hundreds of years with no considerable gains against each other. But the rise of two great commanders on both sides might finally spell the end of centuries of strife.
