Kabaneri Released Monday

On Monday December 10, Manga Entertainment will release Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress as a Blu-ray/DVD combo edition.

Manga describes the series as follows:

"The world is in the midst of the industrial revolution when orrific creatures emerge from a mysterious virus, ripping through the flesh of humans to sate their never-ending appetite. The only way to kill these beings, known as 'Kabane,' is by destroying their steel-coated hearts. However, if bitten by one of these monsters, the victim is doomed to a fate worse than death, as the fallen rise once more to join the ranks of their fellow undead.

"Only the most fortified of civilizations have survived this turmoil, as is the case with the island of Hinomoto, where mankind has created a massive wall to protect themselves from the endless hordes of Kabane. The only way into these giant fortresses is via heavily-armored trains, which are serviced and built by young men such as Ikoma. Having created a deadly weapon that he believes will easily pierce through the hearts of Kabane, Ikoma eagerly awaits the day when he will be able to fight using his new invention. Little does he know, however, that his chance will come much sooner than he expected…"

The anime reunites director Tetsuro Araki and Wit Studio, the team responsible for Attack on Titan. Code Geasscreator Ichiro Okouchi is writing the scripts. Haruhiko Mikimoto (Macross 7, Gunbuster) is designing the original characters and Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Aldnoah.Zero) is composing the music. The group EGOIST(Guilty Crown, Psycho-Pass, Project Itoh films) created the opening theme song "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" for the anime.

Manga is also releasing the film Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions! Take On Me on Blu-ray and DVD. Manga describes the series as follows:

"Rikka is now a third-year student, but she still has 'chunibyo' syndrome. University entrance exams loom on the horizon, and it's spring break, and Yūta and Rikka are together as usual. One day, Rikka's older sister Tōka declares that she's going to take Rikka to Italy with her, as Tōka is moving to Italy for work and she thinks they should move together as a family.

"Yūta understands Tōka's opinion, but thinks that at this rate he and Rikka will be separated. Shinka and the other members suggest that Yūta and Rikka should 'elope,' and thus sets the stage for Yūta and Rikka's travels throughout Japan in their escape drama."

Torako is credited with the film's original work. Tatsuya Ishihara returned to direct the film at Kyoto Animation. Jukki Hanada is also returned to write the script, and Kazumi Ikeda is returned to design the characters. Nijine also returned to compose the music. Shochiku distributed the film.

Manga will also release the third volume of Dragonball Z Kai Final Chapters on Blu-ray and DVD, carrying episodes 145 to 167 of the series.
