The official website for the television anime adaptation of CHIROLU's If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord (Uchi no Ko no tame naraba, ore wa moshikashitara Maō mo Taoseru kamoshirenai.) light novel series began streaming the first promotional video for the anime on Friday. The site also revealed a new key visual, seven new cast members, opening theme song information, and July premiere. The anime will air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, and J:COM TV.
Kanon Takao will perform the show's opening theme song "I'm With You" as her character Latina. The new cast members include:
Tsuyoshi Koyama as Kenneth
Manami Numakura as Rita
Yūki Kuwahara as Chloe
Marika Kōno as Sylvia
Mutsumi Tamura as Rudy
Yūki Hirose as Marcel
Katsumi Fukuhara as Anthony
The anime stars:
Nobuhiko Okamoto as Dale, a skilled, 18-year-old adventurer. He met Latina in a forest while on quest to defeat some monsters, and has since then become her guardian. He is normally a stern-faced adventurer, but drops his guard when in front of Latina.
Takeyuki Yanase (Himegoto, Onsen Yōsei Hakone-chan, In Another World With My Smartphone) is directing the anime at Maho Film. Takao Yoshioka (WATAMOTE, High School DxD, Konohana Kitan) is writing and supervising the series' scripts. Hota., the artist of the novels' manga adaptation, is credited for design cooperation. Miyako Nishida, Toshihide Masudate, and Kaho Deguchi are all credited as character designers and chief animation directors.
J-Novel Club is releasing the light novels digitally in English, and it describes the story:
Dale is a cool, composed, and highly skilled adventurer who's made quite a name for himself despite his youth. One day on a job deep in the forest, he comes across a little devil girl who's almost wasted away. Unable to just leave her there to die, Dale takes her home and becomes her adoptive father. Devil or not, Latina is beyond adorable, and the adventurer soon finds himself head over heels with being a parent. But why was she out in the forest to begin with, and why does she carry the mark of a criminal?
CHIROLU began the series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō! (Let's Be Novelists) website in August 2014. Hobby Japan launched the series in print with illustrations by Truffle in February 2015, and Kei began providing the illustrations in the second volume. Hota. has been drawing a manga adaptation of the novel series in Kadokawa's ComicWalker app since July 2016. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga.
