The July issue of Square Enix's G Fantasy magazine revealed on Tuesday that Ai Uzuki's manga adaptation of Yutaka Kōno's Inakunare, Gunjō (Fragile Light of Pistol Star) novel will end its main story in the magazine's next issue on July 18. The manga will have one more chapter after the main story, after which it will end.
The novel's story is set in the small island of Kaidantō (Stairway Island), which has a population of only 2,000. High school student Nanakusa lives a stable life that could be described as stagnant. When Nanakusa reunites on the island with a girl he knew, his everyday life begins to change.
Uzuki launched the manga in G Fantasy in April 2018. Square Enix published the manga's first compiled book volume on April 26.
The novel debuted in 2014 as the first in Kōno's "Kaidantō" series of novels. The novel is also inspiring a live-action film adaptation.
Kōno's Sagrada Reset novel series inspired a television anime in 2017, as well as two live-action films in the same year.
