Grisaia: Phantom Trigger Anime's Sequel Reveals Title, Crowdfunding Campaign

The official website for the anime adaptation of its Grisaia: Phantom Trigger game revealed on Friday that the title of the sequel anime will be Grisaia: Phantom Trigger the Animation Stargazer. Staff revealed a key visual and poster visual for the sequel.
The visual features returning characters Rena, Maki, and Tohka, as well as the new character Gumi. The sequel will tell the story of the "Vol. 3" game.
Frontwing also began streaming a special message video for the anime.
In order to improve the quality of the sequel, staff announced that a new Campfire crowdfunding campaign will begin on July 26, the day that the Blu-ray Disc for Grisaia: Phantom Trigger goes on sale in Japan. Backer rewards will include a Blu-ray Disc of the anime, name in the anime's ending credits, B2-size reproduction key art, and tickets to a special screening of the anime. Staff originally planned to launch the crowdfunding campaign in June.
The anime's cast will reprise their roles from the previous anime. Akio Watanabe, the original character designer for the Grisaia franchise, will return as the character designer for the sequel. Bibury Animation Studio will again produce the anime.
The first anime opened on March 15 at Tokyo's EJ Anime Theater Shinjuku and at four other theaters in Japan.
The anime's first two episodes were originally slated to debut simultaneously in 2018, with region-free Blu-ray Discs slated to ship last December. Rewards for crowdfunding backers have not yet shipped. The English dub will be included on the Blu-ray Disc release. Each episode was originally planned to be 60 minutes long and would adapt one volume of the original visual novel.
Anime director Tensho founded the new animation studio Bibury Animation Studio to produce the anime as its first work. Tensho also wrote and supervised the scripts. Watanabe served as the anime's character designer and chief animation director. Ryuichiro Yamakawa planned and produced the anime. Frontwing funded the anime on its own instead of using a production committee.
