Namiru Matsumoto's My Girlfriend is Shobitch Manga Ends

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga launched in 2015, inspired 2017 TV anime

The Nico Nico Seiga, Comic Walker, and Comic Web Newtype websites published the 87th and final chapter of Namiru Matsumoto's Boku no Kanojo ga Majime Sugiru Shojo Bitch na Ken (My Girlfriend is Shobitch) manga on September 13. Kadokawa will ship the manga's eighth and final compiled book volume on December 10.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the manga's television anime adaptation, and it describes the story:

When Haruka asks his classmate Akiho to go out with him, he's hoping that she'll say 'yes'. What he isn't expecting is for her to agree, then approach their relationship with an emotionally detached attitude as if she was writing a research paper with sex as the topic!

It's all about maximizing compatibility, Akiho says, but when preparation for a first date requires Haruka to divulge a comprehensive list of his sexual fetishes in advance for planning purposes, perhaps there's something to be said for getting to know each other the old-fashioned way! And if Akiho's clinical approach isn't awkward enough, things get really weird when it's time to meet the parents and Haruka learns where Akiho's odd demeanor comes from! It's the romantic comedy where T.M.I. and A-Type personalities collide!

The manga launched on Nico Nico Seiga on July 20, 2015, and it also serializes on Comic Walker and Comic Web Newtype.

The 10-episode television anime series adaptation of the manga premiered in October 2017. Sentai Filmworks streamed the series on the U.S. and Canada on Amazon's now-defunct Anime Strike service before also adding it to HIDIVE. HIDIVE streamed the series outside of the U.S. and Canada as it aired. Sentai Filmworks release the series on Blu-ray Disc in February 2018 with an English dub.
