Wow, I didn't know she hadn't done anything since Kimi ni Todoke. I guess when you've made such a monumental hit, it might be daunting to start over again (though I think she also had a family too).

Though I feel like it'll probably be heavily compared to Kimi ni Todoke.

I wish Karuho Shiina the best of luck with her new work. Kimi ni Todoke made me a huge fan of hers and she can do no wrong in my eyes.

I like her. One of the best characters I love to watch. Recently tried out Cashlib for my online casino adventures, and its simplicity personified. Found it through https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-casinos/cashlib CasinosAnalyzer, and it lived up to the recommendation. Quick, secure transactions – exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend for fellow players!

Kimi ni Todoke is one of my favorites... I've been Googling Karuho Shiina every now and then, just waiting to see something new. I definitely new there wasn't anything.....

But, yeah, following up such a big hit can be very daunting. But it's not exactly unprecedented -- and God knows there are plenty of cases where the subsequent series wind up being better (and better and better) than what came before, so I'm pretty optimistic.

I mean, it's been 18 years since she started Kimi ni Todoke, which only ended a little less than 7 years ago; but then she did a short KnT spin-off series called Soulmate which ended in 2022, so it's only really been about two years since her last series.

The biggest span of time is just what's passed since the anime ended (all the way back in 2011), but then again if we're talking about a TV presence, they did do a live action adaptation of KnT just last year.

EDIT: Also, note that Soulmate has been picked up for an English release and the first volume (of four, iirc) are due out in a few weeks -- March or April, I believe.

Considering she had a baby mid manga I’m not surprised at all she took a lot of time off. Also her little one is already FIFTEEN, geez how has it been that long since I was reading Kimi.
